How Star Leap battles work
Normal combat uses a timeline-based turn system. A party can hold up to six characters arranged across front and back rows. On a turn, the documented action categories are normal attacks, Runes, and special techniques. The order shown on the timeline makes action timing part of the decision, rather than asking the player to enter every command before the round resolves.
Star Leap also includes War Mode for larger conflicts. In this mode, allied and enemy units move at the same time, and the player issues commands while reading the battlefield. It is a real-time strategy layer, distinct from normal command battles, and continues the series tradition of changing the rules when armies rather than small parties collide.
Progression reaches beyond levels. The village's bounty facility awards experience, training materials, and potch for completed monster requests. Guidance can teach character-specific skills or abilities, while technique upgrades improve attacks, healing, and support effects.
